When pride comes then comes dishonor, but with the humble is wisdom.  Proverbs 11:2  Pridefullness comes in many forms such as feeling superior in your appearance, achievements, abilities, intelligence, children, etc. and can also be used  to hurt others in what you say.  Pride is believing that you were responsible for the aforementioned attributes and that God was not entirely responsible.

As we know or should know, God is responsible for all the good in our lives, which includes your achievements, talents, appearance, and so on.  The following are a few of my favorite versus from the Bible.  I believe these versus are self explanatory.

But He gives more grace.  Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”  James 4:6      “For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”  Luke 14:11         “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”  2 Chronicles 7:14               “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.”  Proverbs 27:1                                          “Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.”  Matthew 6:1  Be humble.

Have a Blessed day!
