Everyone is going through challenges everyday.  Whether it is work, school, relationships, kids, kids problems, sickness, death of loved ones, financial hardship and the list goes on.  We all go through these trials, for some it is worse than others.  How do we deal with these issues from a spiritual perspective?

Sometimes it seems that God is not listening to our prayers because the problems persist.  It seems that the only way to deal with this stress, anxiety and worry, is to fall asleep and maybe by morning the problems would disappear.  That would be nice, but it doesn’t work that way.  Some people, unfortunately use other more harmful means to deal with or react to their stresses and anxieties,  Drugs, alcohol, anger, promiscuity, jealousy, addictive habits, and so on.  These methods end up being self destructive.  In the short term, these methods are self satisfying.  God uses these trials as a means to submit our will and show us that we need Him.

The first thing we need to admit is that we are not in control.  God is.  When we completely submit our will to God and allow God to direct our path you will see that things will change for the better.  It takes hard work, sacrifice, prayer, understanding and humility.  It doesn’t happen overnight.  This is on God’s timetable, not ours.  As soon as we think we can do it better or without God, then you will notice that the problems do not go away.  Maybe in the short term they get a little better but ultimately the issues remain.

By trying to take control and do things without prayer and without God we are basically telling him that we can do it better than He can.  Let God help you.  Be patient.  Let him find your path and put the people in your life that will direct you.  Ever notice that when we try to do things on our own and go through many trials and many roadblocks, we never seem to accomplish our objective or solve the problem.  Then all of the sudden one person or one phone call or just one thing happens and the problem is solved or we get exactly what we want. That is God telling us that He can do things in an instant and that if we let Him and be patient, we won’t have to go through all the unnecessary tribulations.

This isn’t to say that you won’t have issues arise or tribulations, because unfortunate things still happen that God will use for your ultimate good.  God loves you.  Let God take over.  Pray, listen, be patient, be righteous, faithful, kind, Godly, loving, peaceful, forgiving, and gracious.  “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer”.  Romans 12:12  If you feel you need help, seek it, you will find it, God will make sure.  If I can help in any way, send me a message.  Do not loose hope, sometimes following God’s will is not easy.  I know because I work on it everyday.

Have a Blessed day!
